Bicycle Tour: Cape Cod 2023, Day Six

On the last day of this tour, I rode from Wellfleet Hollow State Park to Provincetown, where I caught the fast ferry to Boston and rode home to Somerville.

On Friday, September 29, 2023, I checked the weather forecast, which was for rain, so I went home early. (For the fifth day of this tour, see Cape Cod 2023, Day Five).

My original plan was that I was going to stay Friday and Saturday nights at Wellfleet Hollow and go home on Sunday. But because of a forecast of rain for Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, I decided to go home early. I used my phone to change my fast ferry reservation. I packed up quickly and departed Wellfleet Hollow State Park at 7:15 a.m.

I rode up to Long Pond Road and took over Route 6 it into Wellfleet. I took back roads between Wellfleet and Truro to reach Route 6A into Provincetown. I later learned that my route followed the East Coast Greenway and Bicycle Route 1. I arrived at MacMillan Pier at 9:30 a.m. after riding 21.68 miles.

I caught the 10:30 fast ferry to Boston.

From the ferry pier in the Seaport district of Boston, I rode 4.94 miles home using bike lanes in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville, arriving in rain at 1:00 p.m.
