Bicycle Tour: Cape Cod 2025, Day Four
I did not ride today, but I walked to Truro Vineyards for lunch.
Saturday, September 6, 2025, was the fourth day of my tour of Cape Cod. (For the third day of this tour, see Cape Cod 2025, Day Three). I continued camping at North of Highland Camping Area for the fourth day.
The low was 69 °F with 85% humidity. I was having difficulty drying my damp clothing, but hanging socks under my tent’s rainfly worked.
A little after sunrise I walked over to the Head of the Meadow Beach. At 9:30 a.m., I walked through Areas 3 and 4 of the campground, which were closed since it was the last week of the season. There were about six sites that were still occupied, two with very large trailers under huge tarp canopies.
I decided to be lazy today since I was going to ride more than thirty miles the next day (Sunday, September 7), so I did not ride my bike today.
I walked 2.5 miles to Truro Vineyards between Route 6A and Route 6, arriving at noon, to take advantage of the food trucks. I ate two Cumin Lime Chicken Tacos and a mocktail called the Pain-killer.

After eating, I walked back to the campground, giving me more than seven miles of walking for the day. During my walk, I was confidently able to give two tourists on bikes directions to local attractions.
The weather was 76 °F, humid, and sunny at 1:00 pm. I took a nap for an hour with the tent wide open to catch the breeze. I did laundry after I woke up, and I recharged my power banks in the recreation hall since I would not have access to electrical power after the morning of the next day.
Since the forecast for the next day (Sunday) was for rain, I prepared by putting everything under the rainfly of the tent. The skies got cloudy in the evening. Southern New England was getting thunderstorms, but they didn’t reach this part of the cape.
