Running Summary June 2021

After running in my new On running shoes, I developed a mysterious injury that prevented me from running.


After recovering from a mild back injury in May, I bought some new On running shoes at Marathon Sports and began running again.

But I quickly suffered from what appeared to be very tight hamstrings, and I stopped running for the rest of June. My notes about this problem included:

Hamstrings and glutes were tight again today. I can’t decide if this is because of my workouts or because of running in the new shoes.

Mild pain and stiffness when walking downhill.

I am still experiencing mild pain and tightness in the back of my pelvis, I think where my hip sockets are. I have been trying to figure out what is wrong. I have experienced this since I began running in my new On running shoes…. I have ruled out muscle pain and ligament tightness. Perhaps I have bruised my pelvis, I have a stress fracture, or I have arthritis…. It is most noticeable when I walk downhill, but it is also noticeable when I inhale sharply….

Foam rolling, Pilates, and strength workouts had no effect.
